Your Experience
Your experience begins with an informative private tour of our working rare-breed farm and Highland Cattle. Depending on the season and where the animals are grazing, you may encounter Vaynol and Irish Moiled cattle, as well as Hebridean, Boreray and North Ronaldsay sheep.
During the summer, you’ll travel aboard our farm buggy through the fields, where our Highland cattle graze against the beautiful Kent countryside.
In winter, the experience moves into the farm buildings. You’ll still travel between the two areas of the farm by buggy, but the tour will not venture into the fields. Instead, you’ll explore the barns on foot and enjoy more time observing the cattle at close quarters.
Along the way, you’ll hear stories about our animals, learn about their individual personalities and characteristics, and discover why responsible breeding and conservation grazing are so important to the future of these remarkable breeds.
There will be opportunities to stop and take photographs, and where conditions allow, you may be able to spend time closer to some of the animals. However, every visit is guided by the needs and wellbeing of our livestock, so touching, feeding and direct interaction cannot be guaranteed.
This is an authentic behind-the-scenes experience on a working rare-breed farm—not a staged petting attraction. The route and the animals you encounter may vary according to the weather, season and daily running of the farm, making every visit unique.
